United Conservative Leader Jason Kenney made a campaign stop in Medicine Hat today and unveiled another announcement.

Kenney says under a UCP government, the first thing his party will do, is proclaim the turn off the taps legislation.

Kenney says the Notley government had no intention of ever going further with it.

Kenney says, ” The NDP passed that legislation through the Legislature a year ago, as part of their fake fight, a bad act of political theatre.  They never intended to use it.  That’s underscored by the fact they never proclaimed it into law.  And so, it’s basically just an empty gesture.  We’ll turn it into a real law.”

Kenney added the legislation would be proclaimed with in an hour of being sworn in, should the UCP win the election.
