The hot, dry, and windy conditions across the prairies continue to cause concerns for fire officials.

Cypress County this morning enacted a full fire ban within its borders ahead of the long weekend.

The ban means no fires will be permitted, that includes those in fire pits, burn barrels and more.

Propane and natural gas barbeques as well as wood pellet smokers however will be allowed.

The ban covers all land in the county with the exception of provincial parks.

At this time, Alberta Parks says there are no fire restrictions or bans at any Provincial Park in southern Alberta.
