A major joint venture project in renewable energy to be located in Cypress County appears to be one step closer to reality.

Renewable U Medicine Hat says it’s secured an initial agreement to buy 80 acres of land near Dunmore.

R.U.M.H. and Cielo Waste Solutions are looking to build a facility that will turn waste feedstocks into renewable fuels.

Those fuels can then be blended into highway transportation, marine and jet fuels.

The companies are expected to now move forward with regulator approvals and community consultations
