The City of Medicine Hat has officially declared outdoor play structures off limits.

Until this past weekend, residents were advised to keep kids off the structures on school grounds and in parks.

Emergency Management director Merrick Brown says the move eliminates all ambiguity relating to these spaces.

Brown says residents can still use parks and trails as long as physical distancing guidelines are followed.

Brown added that while police can issue tickets to those who don’t comply with the order, he doesn’t think that will be necessary.
